Class 02
Five identical objects
The concept behind this project is to design and craft a set of wooden modular objects that can interlock with one another, allowing users to create a variety of design structures through creative assembly. The project involves several woodworking techniques to achieve the desired capsule-shaped interlocking modules.

Router table
Band Saw
Step 1: Initial Cutting with Miter Saw
Take one wooden plank and use the miter saw to cut it in half, creating two equal-sized pieces.
This initial cut provides the base for the capsule-shaped modules.
Step 2: Creating the Channel with Router
Set up the router with an appropriate bit to cut a channel through the center of each wooden plank.
Carefully run the router along the length of the wood, creating a groove in the center.
This groove will be the key element for interlocking the modules.
Step 3: Shaping with Belt Sander
Use the belt sander to shape the wooden pieces into a capsule-like form.
Gradually round the edges and smooth the surface to achieve the desired shape.
Step 4: Band Saw for Dividing into Capsules
Set up the band saw to cut each capsule-shaped wooden piece into five smaller capsules.
Ensure precision in the cutting process to maintain consistency in size.
Step 5: Painting
Paint each wooden module's front and back sides with white acrylic paint.
Allow the paint to dry completely before assembly.
Step 6: Assembly and Interlocking
Experiment with different combinations and orientations of the wooden capsules to create various design structures.
The interlocking channels created with the router in Step 3 will allow the modules to fit together securely.
Step 7: Troubleshooting
Address any issues with size dimensions and ensure that all modules can interlock smoothly.
Make the necessary adjustments or modifications to ensure a seamless fit.
